No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8: 37-39
We glorify God by serving each other. The GO Team encourages everyone at Living Hope to become involved in some kind of mission or outreach. In addition to the Mission In Motion Sunday each month, the team presents several options to serve on a mission team.
Want to start close to home? There are a number of neighborhood opportunities.
Want to spread your wings a little wider than Colorado Springs? Join weekend mission within a half day's drive.
Are you ready to jump into an international adventure? There are several excellent options, and a variety of continents to choose from.
Every other month we provide brown bag lunches to the homeless. And there are many additional opportunities for involvement in serving the Colorado Springs community.
From tree trimming, fence repair, and yard cleanup (primarily for single moms and disabled neighbors) to adopting and being the primary support for an Afghan refugee family, there is great variety in the ways we help others. At the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year, we supplied clothing and school supplies to twelve elementary students, and heard that the children were delighted with their new wardrobes.
International Missions Trips
In 2017, members of Living Hope went on missions trips to
- Help young children in Mexico;
- Serve in an orphanage in Russia;
- Provide leadership at camps for disadvantaged kids in Ukraine;
- Expand resources in South Korea to help refugees from North Korea.
- Through our close relationship with ServeNow, additional international trips are available in India, Nepal, Ukraine, and Uganda. Click here to see which one suits your gifts and interests most closely.
Local Missions Trip
In 2016, a group from Living Hope helped Aurora Community Church with their community outreach Festival. This fun weekend included inviting neighbors to and the participating in singing, dancing, testimonies, baptisms, a wonderful barbecue, face painting, and a "hoops" contest. It was a fabulous celebration of the multi-ethnic community.
In addition, the team worked alongside teens from Aurora Community Church to trim bushes and tear down a shed for one of the neighborhood families. The time culminated with worship at the Spanish women’s service.
