Marilyn Danielson
Marilyn was born and raised in Denver, CO. in a Christian home where she learned
the importance of a faith in God and regular church attendance at First Covenant
Church. She graduated with a B.S in Nursing from Denver, Univ. Dan and Marilyn got
engaged up at the Loveland Ski Area, married the following summer and moved to Chicago,
Ill, where he finished seminary.
We served a church in Rockford, Ill., for two and a half years before Dan went into
the Army as a Chaplain in April, l965. They moved l8 times in 24 years of military
service, and were afforded the opportunity to meet some great people and have wonderful
friends all over the world. This experience has helped Marilyn keep her focus on
global issues.
God gave them three great sons(one of which died at the age of 17 months)' and He
has blessed the Danielson’s with two wonderful daughters-in-law and nine grand-grandchildren.
Marilyn’s favorite book of the Bible is John. When she was young, a Sunday
School teacher gave her her own little "Gospel of John".
Marilyn "asked Jesus into her heart" at the age of eight. “I thank
God for some faithful Sunday School teachers who prepared the way for me and clearly
taught from the scriptures. One such teacher made a scrapbook for each of her students
and on the last page mine said: ‘This book is given to you with a prayer,
that Christ may dwell in your heart by faith and that you will love Him as your
Lord and Savior, and follow Him all the days of your life.’ I thank God for
people like her who have helped to shape my life.”
Marilyn is thankful for LHCC where caring people have continued to encourage her
Christian walk, and where all in attendance have felt her caring spirit.
